Day 2

Subject: What's wrong with you, [firstname]?

Hi [firstname],

What's wrong with your life right now? You see: Identifying a problem is the first step to finding a solution.

And when I say identifying a problem, I mean REALLY drilling down and getting to the root of the matter.

You see…

The mind is such a complicated thing that sometimes it tricks and deceives us, making it difficult to identify problems in our lives. As a consequence, we never really find a solution and always feel that there is something missing.

There may be more than one thing you're unhappy with right now – and that's perfectly OK. Quite often a problem in one area of your life can cause repercussions in other areas, too

So draw up a list of everything you're not happy with and/or would like to transform for the better. Possible areas include your job, relationships, health, weight, fitness etc. Write it all down, then use the “5 whys” technique to drill down to find the root cause.

The 5 whys technique is where you ask yourself “why is this?” five times in a row.

For example, let's say you have a weight problem.

Why?

Because you're comfort eating.

Why?

Because you and your spouse are fighting all the time.

Why?

Because she/he doesn't like where you live.

Why do you live there?

Because we can't afford to move to a better neighborhood.

Why is that?

Because you keep getting passed over for promotion at work and don't make enough money.

See what I mean?

In this example you can see that the problem ISN'T really a weight problem, but a work problem.

Now decide what would be the best solution to that problem, and work backwards from there to now to create a plan of action. Working backwards is important because that way you'll know each step is achievable and guaranteed to get you what you want.

Warmly,

[Your Name]
